Go the Distance is a 24-hour relay event held at Del Oro High School to promote health and fitness with our Loomis District students. Teams of 10 are formed in several divisions: Open Adult, Adult Women, High School, Loomis middle schools (team of 20), and staff (team of 20). There is also the Ultraman option in which a solo person runs the entire 24-hour relay on their own.
This year’s event is May 10-11th.
The cost of entry for a 10-person team is $1000 ($100 per person), $750 of which comes back to our school. The more teams we have the more money goes to Penryn!! We are forming teams now. We have several options for you to support Penryn’s teams:
**Support our team: Even if you cannot participate in the actual event you can donate ANY amount ($5, $10, $25, etc…) towards our team fees. We will then assign the run time to an individual that would like to run/walk in the event. Click here to donate.
**Participate: Run/walk during a shift of the 24-hour event. Email Cheryl at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to be assigned a time. While it is not necessary, you can also donate towards your team fee by clicking here. After you sign up, you will need to fill out the 2019 GTD waiver in order to participate. Be sure to select Penryn as your school of choice!
Payments and waivers must be submitted before you are placed on a team. Deadline is May 4th to submit waivers and payments.
5K Aqua Color Run
There is also a 5k Aqua Color Run on Friday, May 10th at 6:30 pm at Del Oro. The cost is $25 per person which includes a t-shirt. This event is designed for all ages in the Loomis district. Great way to spend time with your kids and give back to your school. All of the Loomis schools share the profits of this event equally. Come out and support Penryn at this fun event! Sign up here before May 9th. GTD team members can run this event for free wearing their team shirt!
