Go the Distance is a 24-hour relay event held at Del Oro High School to promote health and fitness with our Loomis District students. Teams of 10 are formed in several divisions: Open Adult, Adult Women, High School, Loomis middle schools (team of 20), and staff (team of 20). There is also the Ultraman option in which a solo person runs the entire 24-hour relay on their own.
This year’s event is May 12-13.
The cost of entry for a 10-person team is $1000 ($100 per person), $750 of which comes back to our school. The more teams we have the more money goes to Penryn!! We are forming teams now. Sign up via the PTC site here and we will put together a team based on your selection. You can also send in your payment (cash/check payable to “Penryn PTC”) to the office. After you sign up, you will need to fill out the 2017 GTD waiver in order to participate. Be sure to select Penryn as your school of choice!
Payments and waivers must be submitted before you are placed on a team. Deadline is May 4th to submit waivers and payments.
Sponsorship: Mr. Muth is running the Ultraman Run this year which consists of running solo the entire 24-hourhour event. He is looking for sponsorship towards his entry fees. All of which will come directly back to Penryn! Your company or family name would have space on the back of his shirt as well banner space in our designated spot or along the DO track wall, if applicable. To support Mr. Muth submit your sponsorship order here.
A personal message from Mr. Muth:
How far will you go?
When Greg Bomhoff put on the first Go the Distance event, the underlying question was asked, “How far would you go for the kids of the Loomis Union School District?” This is a question I am taking to heart, but altering it a bit. “How far would you go for the kids of Penryn School?”
I am willing to put everything I have out on the track and run for the entire 24 hours. While the other teams will have someone to pass off the baton, I will be doing it all by myself, and I will run for the entire 24 hours. I am doing this to show just how far the teachers and staff at Penryn will go for our students. I have some goals for the event itself, but my biggest goal is to get sponsorship and raise money for our classrooms and school. All the money I collect comes back to the school.
So there it is, I am willing to run for 24 hours straight for the kids of Penryn School. Now I ask the question of you.
How far will you go to support the children of Penryn School? How much support will you give?
